Destination X launched on the BBC last week as the broadcaster’s new game show, hosted by Rob Brydon.
However, while last week’s episodes sparked a mixed response, viewers tuned into this week’s episode on Thursday admitted they had “lost interest”.
The fourth episode saw the remaining contestants taking part in a series of tasks, with participants travelling through Europe aboard coaches with darkened windows whilst attempting to determine their location.
During the latest show though, some who had enjoyed last week’s episodes seemed to change their minds.
The players travelled to the next unknown location, attempting to solve the clues as to where in Europe they were.
Social media soon reflected the negative response from viewers though.
One asked on X: “Does anybody else find this programme a bit boring, and the contestants a bit lacking in certain areas. #DestinationX.”
“First two episodes of this were quite entertaining, but now it’s mostly them messing about playing games just to get a f****** clue. #DestinationX,” a second agreed.
A third shared: “I’m mixed on #DestinationX. Is the point that the clues are p*** easy so then it focusses on the dynamic/gameplay? Then these conversations on the bus just feel forced/contrived.”
One particularly angry viewer wrote: “It’s boring watching idiots not know their a*** from their elbow. #DestinationX.”
“#DestinationX I’ve tried to like it but i just find it to slow paced and rather dull,” another admitted, with one more adding: “Rapidly losing interest in #DestinationX.”
Others did enjoy the fourth instalment though, with one writing: “I am enjoying Destination X, interesting and contestants come from various areas of the UK & lifestyles.” (sic)
The episode ultimately saw historian Chloe-Anne leaving the series after placing her X too far away from the destination.
The contestant had guessed they’d been in Vienna, but the destination was actually in a different Austrian city, Salzburg.
Episode three on Wednesday saw presenter Brydon revealing that Ben would be departing the X-bus after he guessed the furthest away.
The show also threw in a major twist though when some former contestants returned to the bus.
Last week, some applauded Brydon’s presenting on the show while others indicated he was the best thing about it.
“I like Rob Brydon but he’s not right for this. He’s trying to be too serious. Needs more fun and a few laughs to make it more watchable. #DestinationX,” one wrote last Wednesday.
