Calvin Harris has announced the arrival of his first child with wife Vick Hope.
BBC Radio 1 host Hope went on maternity leave in May, with their baby son born on July 20. The musician shared the news on social media on Monday, August 4.
Revealing their son’s sweet name Harris, 41, posted some photos on his Instagram along with the caption: “20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here!
“My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah.” (sic)
The photos show Harris sat on the sofa holding the tiny baby, with further snaps showing Hope and the newborn in the birthing pool following his arrival.
Harris also shared snaps of the process of turning the placenta into tablets, prompting some criticism in the comments.
However, fans and friends flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages, with actress Gemma Atkinson writing: “Beautiful. Congratulations to you both. Well done Vick!!!”
Roman Kemp simply shared some heart emojis, while Pixie Lott added: “Omg congrats vick and calvin!!!! So lovely.”
Someone else wrote: “congratulations mate,” with a second adding: “Massive congrats mate! Big love.”
“Oh my god congrats,” another commented. (sic)
Shortly after heading on maternity leave, Hope jetted to her home in Ibiza, where the couple have a farm called Terra Masia – the island’s largest farm. The couple also live in Gloucestershire.
Hope, 35, shared earlier this year that she and Harris were expecting their first child.
Chatting to her radio co-host Jamie Laing, Hope explained: “I should probably also say this is my final week before I go on maternity leave.”
Laing replied: “You’re an amazing friend, an amazing person, and you’re just going to be an amazing mum,” with Hope replying: “Oh, thank you.”
During Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Hope and Laing asked thousands of audience members for baby name suggestions.
“Vick is about to go on maternity leave, and she wants some help with some baby names, so if you can shout some names to me,” Laing told the crowd.
Hope shared some recent snaps of herself partying at one of Harris’ Ibiza gigs, baby bump on full display.
One photo was a mirror selfie with Hope sporting a sparkly dress, while another photo showed her wearing a bikini and posting with AJ Odudu.
The couple got married in 2023, a year after they began dating.
