Brooklyn Beckham has sparked fury after he shared photographs celebrating his father-in-law Nelson Peltz’s 83rd birthday in New York, all while maintaining distance from his own parents, Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham.
The 26-year-old posted images from the weekend celebration at the Peltz family’s Bedford, New York home, showing him standing behind Nelson alongside his wife Nicola, 30, both flashing wide smiles.
Brooklyn captioned the Tuesday evening post with a red heart emoji in tribute to the billionaire businessman.
The celebratory photos represent the latest development in the ongoing rift between Brooklyn and his famous parents, coming after he notably snubbed his father’s 50th birthday celebrations last month.
The former photographer has reportedly told his family he wants no contact, though sources close to him have denied these claims.
This isn’t the first time Brooklyn has gushed over his father-in-law on social media, but it represents the latest twist in the saga given the number of times his parents have extended olive branches on the same platform.
And that didn’t go unnoticed by furious fans of the Beckham clan, many of whom flocked to the comments of Brooklyn’s latest post to brand him “cruel” for continuing to ignore his parents in favour of his in-laws.
“No happy birthday for his own dad on his special bday! Shame on them,” one Instagram user fumed before a second echoed: “I feel so bad for David. He loves all his kids so much and Brooklyn would be nothing without him.”
“He posted an innocent photo, but it somehow made me feel disgusted,” a third weighed in before a fourth simply hit out: “That’s so cruel to your father.”
“It’s so hard to watch this photo, be strong lady victoria & sir david,” a fifth urged before a sixth suggested: “Do you not think you should drop the name Beckham, seeing as you are so obviously cutting them out of your life?
“That name is your only claim to fame, and you don’t deserve it if you continue to ignore the family who gave you everything!”
However, a few waded into the outrage to urge a more diplomatic approach: “At the end of the day, we don’t know what has gone on behind closed doors, but I do wish they would all make up because life is too short but I do wish they all the best.” (sic)
Neither Brooklyn nor his wife Nicola addressed the negative feedback aimed towards them, but the latter did share multiple photographs from the lavish birthday party, writing a gushing tribute to her father on her own Instagram page.
“Happy birthday dad! I am so lucky to be your daughter, you’re the most loving and supportive father I could ever dream of,” she wrote.

“I love you more than I could ever begin to express – you’re the wind beneath my wings. I loved celebrating you yesterday! Thank you for always being there for us – our constant love and support.”
The party took place at the Peltz family’s substantial home in Bedford, New York, with Brooklyn appearing in several of the family photographs.
In one image shared by Nicola, Brooklyn was pictured with a child sitting on his shoulders, appearing completely at home with his wife’s family.
Brooklyn’s absence from David’s 50th birthday celebrations marked a significant moment in the family rift. He failed to attend any of the football legend’s birthday events, including a boys’ fishing trip, a family party at the Beckhams’ Cotswolds home, an idyllic trip to France, and a meal at Notting Hill restaurant Core.
Despite being in London at the time, Brooklyn and Nicola chose not to participate in the celebrations.
The 26-year-old also broke with family tradition by not posting birthday wishes for either parent on social media – an unusual move for the Beckhams, who are known for their loving posts.
Brooklyn reportedly told his family he wants no contact with them earlier this month, according to a source who spoke to Page Six, though a source close to Brooklyn denied the claims.
“Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he’s not responding to those that try to connect,” the source alleged.
According to the publication, Brooklyn had no communication with his family following David’s knighthood announcement last week and only learned of the news through media reports, alongside the rest of the world.
A source close to Brooklyn told the publication: “Everyone’s focus should be David Beckham’s great honour.”
David and Victoria have reportedly become resigned to their estrangement from their eldest son.
Rumours of a rift began when Brooklyn remained silent on Victoria’s 51st birthday last month, even though his brothers Romeo and Cruz posted gushing messages.
As Brooklyn celebrated with the Peltz family over the weekend, Victoria posted a photograph with her own parents, Anthony and Jackie Adams, writing: “Family weekends make me so happy.”
Brooklyn has shown that not all family ties are severed, posting a birthday tribute to David’s mother, Sandra, on her 76th birthday with the message “Happy birthday nanny xx love you so much.”
David included Brooklyn’s Instagram handle in his own birthday post for Sandra, despite their widening rift.
