Reuben Owen penned a sweet message to his girlfriend on his Instagram account despite facing backlash from fans about his “disgusting” farming methods.
Last week, Amanda Owen posted a video of Reuben lending a helping hand at the family’s farm, Ravenseat, as lambing season is in full swing.
In an update from Ravenseat, Amanda recorded her son lying on top of a ewe while his leg holds its lamb back, before yanking the mother up by her horns.
Amanda noted in the caption that the ewe has been acting up, causing Reuben to “spring into action” to catch the sheep.
She penned: “Caught ewe. Reuben downs tools and springs into action. Everyone lends a hand, there is no one exempt from lambing time tasks.”
On most occasions, many fans are thrilled with the updates that happen on the farm, however, Reuben’s handling of the ewe prompted horrified reactions from some of Amanda’s fans.

Reuben recently responded to the online furore with a straightforward eight-word statement: “I don’t have the time or the inclination to scroll through social media.”

“I don’t want a career on television, I want to be known as the guy who digs big holes; my current ambition is to buy a 50-ton excavator. Now that really would be the realisation of a dream,” he said.
The backlash appears not to have affected Reuben’s dedication to his agricultural work, with the young farmer continuing to assist on the family’s Yorkshire farm.
He even shared an update today of his blossoming relationship with his girlfriend Ellwood, and posted a series of images of the couple together on Instagram.
Reuben captioned the post: “She’s so beautiful. It’s not just my life that’s been brightened up since I met Jess. My camera roll is no longer just picture of diggers and stones.”
Despite the recent backlash from fans, many still flocked to the comment section to praise the youngest and comment on how happy he looked.
