Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes has faced backlash recently for his close friendship with JoJo Siwa, but his best friend, Jake Quickenden, recently set the record straight.
Over the last three weeks, Hughes and Siwa have grown close, which has led to outside speculation that the pair are more than just friends.
On multiple occasions, Hughes has been slammed for “crossing the line” with the 21-year-old American singer.
The ITV series has also been hit with 125 Ofcom complaints after former Love Island urinated in a cat litter tray with Siwa present.
The controversial moment occurred whilst Hughes was dressed in a cat costume as part of a show task and asked her: “Can you block the door? Don’t tell anyone I’ve weed though.”
Hughes and JoJo have drawn attention on the show due to their close friendship, often laying in bed together, giving massages, sharing the hot tub and occasionally sharing secret messages.

At one point, Hughes broke down crying in the Diary Room and expressed: “I know that mine and JoJo’s friendship is genuine.
“If she left the house ever, and I’d be stuck in here, that would genuinely crush me. I guess she’s my person in here.”
Hughe’s intentions have been called into question, but the stars best friend Quickenden recently set the record straight.
Speaking to GB News on behalf of WhichBingo, he said: “I mean, all I see if just two mates having a bit of a laugh.
“I think that he knows the boundaries, and I also think that he has got this relationship with JoJo where they say stupid things to each other.
“But also, that is Chris, Chris flirts with me, that is just Chris, and I think he has just found somebody that he clicks with.
“It’s not a massive difference (age) and their not getting together and it’s not creepy in any way, I don’t think. For me, watching on the outside, knowing Chris, it’s Chris.
“Chris flirted with my mum when he met her at my wedding. That is just his kind of personality, touchy-feely, emotional and yeah, he is a lovely kid and the people that are saying that have to look at why they think that.
“He just needs that comfort blanket in there, and I think that is what JoJo came to him, a bit of a comfort blanket that he can be himself around.
“She is in a relationship, and I don’t think Chris would try and break up a relationship of a girl who is in a relationship with another girl anyway, it’s not something he would do.”
Following the triple eviction on Tuesday, Hughes and Siwa will make it to tomorrow’s final alongside Danny Beard, Chesney Hawkes, Donna Preston, and Jack P. Shepherd.
According to Grosvenor Sport, Shephard has odds of 13/8 to take home the win tomorrow night, with Hughes only sitting at 16/1.
