Katy Perry has spoken out for the first time on social media since returning to Earth after her historic space trip.
The 40-year-old pop star was among a six-woman celebrity team who flew to the edge of outer space onboard Amazon boss Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket.
During the flight, the vessel briefly passed through the “Karman line” – the point that is generally considered the beginning of outer space.
Perry was joined by presenter Gayle King, journalist and Bezos fiancée Lauren Sánchez, rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.

The jaunt became the first all-female space mission since 1963, when Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to leave earth in a solo flight.
After a short time floating around in zero gravity, the six-strong team returned to Earth with the semi-automated capsule landing back on Bezos’ private Texas ranch from which the rocket had launched.
Emerging from the capsule after the dust was cleared, the team was met with thunderous applause. Perry exited, brandishing a single daisy flower she had waved around in zero-gravity, which she then held aloft before kissing it.
She then sank to the ground to kiss it as well. “The Earth was so quiet but also really alive. We are all in this together, and some connected. It makes me just want to hug everybody,” she said.

Fans later pointed out the flower was a tribute to the singer daughter, Daisy, who she welcomed in August 2020 with her actor partner, Orlando Bloom.
Now, the pop icon has issued her first public statement since the mission on social media. “There is no place like home,” she simply wrote on X alongside a globe emoji and a love heart.
Her post was quickly followed by well-wishes from fans who celebrated the history-making voyage.
One glowed: “WE LOVE U! YOU MADE HISTORY!”

“Welcome home Queen!! I’m so happy you made it home safely!! You look amazing in that space suit too!” another praised.
However, the mission has been unanimously met with admiration as the likes of Olivia Wilde and Olivia Munn have led famous faces in condemning the space trip.
Munn even branded the entire mission as “gluttunous”, pointing out the financial hardships many American citizens face at the moment.
Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski are just two other big names who have also publicly ridiculed the space flight.
