Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, the original guitarist of Oasis, is set to join the band’s highly anticipated reunion tour next year.
The 59-year-old musician has reportedly signed on for the Oasis Live ’25 tour, playing a crucial role in bringing the Gallagher brothers back together.
A source told the Mirror: “They both wanted him in the fold and he was one of the drivers of the reunion.”
Bonehead is said to be “ecstatic” about the upcoming performances, which will see Oasis reunite after a 15-year hiatus.
The guitarist’s involvement marks a significant moment for fans, as he was a founding member of the band and shared a close bond with both Noel and Liam Gallagher throughout their tumultuous history.
Bonehead’s history with Oasis dates back to the band’s formation in 1991. He was a key member during their meteoric rise to fame, contributing to their iconic sound and image.
However, in 1999, at the height of Oasis’ success, Bonehead made the decision to leave the band during the recording of their fourth album, “Standing on the Shoulder of Giants”.
His official statement cited a desire to spend more time with his family, as he had recently become a father.
Despite his departure, Bonehead maintained connections with both Gallagher brothers over the years, occasionally performing with Liam in his post-Oasis projects.
His return to the fold for the reunion tour has been warmly welcomed by fans and band members alike.
Bonehead’s relationship with the Gallagher brothers has been complex over the years. Despite reports of not being close to Noel, he confirmed in 2023 that they had spoken “recently”. The guitarist has remained a friend to both siblings, playing a crucial role in their reconciliation.
A source told the Mirror: “Bonehead is one of the few people they are both pals with and he has recently been trying [to get them to patch things up] and it’s finally paid off”.
Bonehead’s efforts, along with those of Liam’s fiancée Debbie Gwyther, have been instrumental in bringing about the reunion. His ability to maintain connections with both brothers has positioned him as a key figure in Oasis’ return.
The guitarist’s involvement in the tour signifies a true reunion of the “Oasis family”, with some members of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds also set to join.

The band will perform at iconic venues including Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Manchester’s Heaton Park, London’s Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, and Dublin’s Croke Park.
The tour kicks off in July 2025 and runs through August, with multiple nights scheduled in each city.
However, fans may have even more to look forward to. A source told the same publication that extra dates “will be added for sure,” as the announced gigs are expected to sell out quickly.
Oasis has also hinted at potential international performances, stating: “Plans are underway for [the tour] to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year.”
