
Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson became emotional and was comforted by her partner Zion Foster as she shared a worrying update on her pregnancy.
The 33-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce she is suffering from complications with her unborn identical twins.
Appearing on a video beside rapper Foster, 26, Nelson shared a medical update with her 9.7million followers to raise awareness of the condition she’s facing.
She candidly explained there’s a risk with her pregnancy which means a heightened risk of losing one of both babies.
The singer was flooded with support in the comments following the statement, in which she explained: “So we just wanted to come on here and do a little video.
“As some of you may know, we are having twins, which is so exciting for us, and we just wanted to let you in on a bit of our journey of what we’ve been going through.
“So we are having identical twins, which is so exciting, we actually can’t believe it. But unfortunately, there are complications that come with having identical twins.
“The type of twins we are having are called Mono/Di twins, and with that, so normally, most twins will have two placentas that they feed off of.”

The Boyz singer continued: “But when you have Mono/Di twins, that means your twins live off one placenta, which can lead to lots of complications.
“One of them being one baby might take all the nutrients, the other might, which is really awful to say, but could lead to both babies dying and at the moment, I am currently pre stage TTTS, which is twin to twin transfusion, and I’m being monitored very closely.”
Beginning to tear up, Nelson added: “We feel really blessed that we’ve been given twins, but it’s just really sad that, unfortunately, it does come with its complications, which we had no idea about.”
Foster, who was sat by her side, quickly placed a comforting arm on the singer as her emotions began to take hold.
“We feel it’s really important for us to share our journey with you guys and let you what’s happening,” Nelson continued, maintaining her compsure.
“But yeah, like I said, we are just hoping for the best, and we’re really fortunate that I am lucky enough to be scanned twice a week, and we get to check on the babies.
“Every time we go for a scan, we’ve just got to pray that everything is going to be good.”
She captioned the post: “Just a little update on our twins”.
Fans soon rushed to support the singer in the comments section, with one writing: “I’m sending you the biggest hug angel.”
“This happened to me,” a second shared, adding: “My twins had twin to twin transfusion. They had a 30 percent chance of survival. Were born 5 weeks early. They are now 30 and are 6ft5.”
Another also offered some reassurance, adding: “Hi Jesy I had exactly the same, I was being scanned every other day, I gave birth to them at 28 weeks, they are now 15 years old and the most amazing boys, we have had a rollercoaster with them and there health but they are the best things that every happened to me. sending love to u.”
“I’m an identical twin I was born much heavier and healthier than my twin and came home 10 days earlier. 47 years on we are best of friends and identical sizes. Wishing you and your babies well,” one more remarked.
“Wow! The way your partner supported you the moment you got emotional, can see the absolute love and adoration in his eyes the way he looked at you! Your both going to be amazing parents,” one more penned.
Another Instagram user wrote: “I was pre TTTS with my MCDA twin girls too, it was the most scary time of my life. They are now 6 year old healthy little girls sending you lots of love.” (sic)
