Molly-Mae Hague has made her feelings clear on some of the backlash she has received for her Amazon Prime series – Molly-Mae: Behind It All – which delved into the breakdown of her relationship with Tommy Fury.
Just two days before the first three episodes were released on Amazon Prime, Men’s Health released their interview with Fury who revealed his addiction to alcohol caused friction in their relationship.
Hague explained that she was left “traumatised and hurt” by Fury’s behaviour, particularly during her sister Zoe Hague’s wedding last July.
While thousands tuned in to watch the series, Hague has since been forced to defend it against claims she and Fury are already back together, leaving others to argue their split was a publicity stunt.
The 25-year-old recently sat down with Closer and said: “I have mixed emotions. Some days I’m feeling slightly more anxious, sometimes I’m like, you know what, I’m really proud of what we’ve created.
“It’s definitely been challenging at times, but I think I have to let go and trust that I need to just show my honest self. I’m ready for it to be out there now and to see what everybody thinks.”
She added she had been “reading the comments” and admitted that it would likely take some time before she’s able to “get my thick skin into play”.
Addressing the “publicity stunt” backlash earlier this month, she explained: “People say, ‘oh, this has obviously just been done for long term brand or a publicity stunt’, that is very painful, because it’s real life.
“Tommy and I have a baby together, and it’s very, very real, and it’s a really hard thing that we’ve both gone through the last six months.
“I wish it was, because it would have been a lot easier, but it isn’t.”
Just weeks before the series landing on Prime, Hague and Fury were spotted kissing at a New Year’s Eve party – with the Maebe creator’s reaction being caught on camera at the end of the third episode.
After being called by her manager, Hague could be seen sat in shock and replied: “Oh my god… No, my god. What?!
“Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury kiss on New Year’s Eve… That is so bad.”
Hague also addressed Fury’s excessive drinking and broke down in tears to her mother Debbie about how it made her feel.
She revealed the breaking point of their issues came during her sister’s wedding and said: “He’s never had an alcohol problem, but alcohol caused problems for us.
“It got to a point where I wasn’t looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much.”
