Gogglebox fans will be familiar with long-term star Stephen Webb, who featured in the Channel 4 show for a decade before leaving in 2023.
Back in 2013, he first appeared alongside his ex Chris Steed before the pair split and his mother Pat Webb sat on the sofa alongside him. Since 2019, his husband Daniel Lustig starred on the show with him, but the couple recently divorced and have left the series.
Webb, 53, explained the split has been harmonious and has been featuring in Channel 4’s Celebs Go Dating in hopes of finding a new man.
Recently opening up about the end of his relationship with Lustig, he held back tears as he described how his former husband was the “best” thing to have happened to him before going on to admit his sense of humour could see him “cancelled” as he returns to the dating world.
Appearing on the Suddenly Single podcast, he opened up to presenters Tim Vincent and Siobhan Wykes about how he still lives with Lustig.
“He’s still cooking for me, I’m still washing his pants,” he explained before emotionally adding: “He’s one of the best things that ever happened to me.”
Commenting on some of the backlash he’s faced from Celebs Go Dating viewers for his approach to dates, he talked about his “1970s style humour”.
It comes as he received a lot of criticism online for his blunt behaviour, and a particular moment that landed him in trouble was when he pretended to fall asleep during one date, who later admitted he’d felt “disrespected”.
“I’ve been out of the dating game for 12 years. Very rusty,” Webb remarked. “And I have got a 1970s Benny Hill sense of humour which doesn’t go down well with the under 30s.
“There’s a lot of people out there who are ready to be offended and ready to cancel you.”
Webb has also sparked concern lately with his drastic weight loss after he began to hit the gym and restrict his diet.
In July last year, for instance, Webb was inundated with praise when he shared a before and after snap of himself after hitting the gym and sticking to his diet for six months.
Webb has continued to be strict with himself, so much so that his latest social media selfie has led to some sharing their concerns about his continued weight shedding.
Taking to Instagram ion August, Webb posed in a white vest and cream shorts while at a barber as he took a snap in the mirror.
