Reality TV star Pete Wicks has addressed romance rumours with his Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowita Przystal during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine today.
The former TOWIE star, 36, firmly denied speculation about a romantic relationship with his professional dance partner.
“We’ve said from day one that we’re really good friends but they just want to do what they want to do,” Wicks told host Lorraine Kelly.
The pair have been at the centre of dating rumours in recent weeks after fans noticed their sizzling on-screen chemistry during their performances on the BBC competition.
Wicks explained how their close friendship developed naturally through the intense Strictly training schedule.
“We don’t let it bother us, really. We’ve become really close through this whole thing because you spend so much time together and we get on so well.”
The duo are preparing for this Saturday’s quarter-final, where they will perform a waltz to Somewhere from West Side Story.
During the interview, Kelly complimented Wicks on his scent, leading to a lighthearted moment where he joked: “I would love to be going out with you, Lorraine, I’ll take you out for your birthday.”
Wicks even brought Kelly a rainbow cake to celebrate her upcoming 65th birthday.
The reality star also opened up about receiving disturbing messages during his time on Strictly Come Dancing.
“It’s mad because it’s a light entertainment show,” Wicks stated.
“Some people take it very, very seriously, but I’m used to that. I’ve had it for years, doing all sorts of different things.”
Earlier this week, Wicks disclosed on his Staying Relevant podcast that he had been subjected to trolling and death threats.
“Since Strictly, there have been some real crackers,” he told Przystal on the podcast.
“Someone actually wished death upon me on the dance floor the other day.”
Polish dancer Przystal, 30, responded to the negativity by calling for more kindness among viewers.

“All we want to do is just have fun and give people something on the Saturday night,” she said on Lorraine.
“We want to entertain people and dancing is the thing that you might like it or not and it’s fine.”
The professional dancer emphasised the importance of respecting different opinions while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
“Everyone, they have their own opinion, and it’s absolutely fine, but I think we just need to be more kind to each other, because the world is already a quite difficult place to be.”
