Wimbledon commentator Andrew Castle has come under fire from tennis fans after repeatedly mispronouncing Trinity Rodman’s name during tournament broadcasts.
The 61-year-old former tennis player consistently referred to the 23-year-old American athlete as “Tiffany” throughout coverage, sparking widespread criticism on social media platforms.
Viewers expressed their frustration online, with many questioning how such a basic error could go uncorrected during professional commentary.
The mistake has drawn particular attention given Trinity Rodman’s high profile as both a professional footballer and the girlfriend of tennis player Ben Shelton, who has been competing at the Championships.
TikTok user Coach Jackie J directly addressed Castle’s error in a video, stating: “I could not believe what I was hearing,” as she called out the commentator for “addressing American athlete Trinity Rodman as Tiffany.”
She emphasised: “Her name is Trinity Rodman, it’s not Tiffany, you called her Tiffany multiple times on the broadcast.”

The TikTok user highlighted Trinity’s sporting achievements as an alternative to constant father references, explaining: “Trinity is a professional soccer player who plays for the Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League.
“She’s a gold medal-winning Olympian, winning the whole thing for Team USA last year in Paris.”
Fans across social media platforms echoed similar frustrations with Castle’s commentary.
One viewer commented: “Pronouncing people’s names correctly is literally your job, Wimbledon commentators, hope you have a backup career in mind.”
“Continuous errors,” a second blasted.
Another added: “It literally drove me NUTS during the entire match! Nobody corrected him?! How is this possible?!”

The criticism extended beyond the name error to Castle’s frequent references to Trinity’s father Dennis Rodman.
One fan remarked: “THANK YOU. They brought up Dennis Rodman and talked about him more than Trinity. I was so annoyed.”
Trinity herself responded approvingly to the criticism video, simply commenting: “Hi … Thank you.”

Trinity Rodman went on to address the commentary issues directly on Instagram following Ben Shelton’s progression to the quarter-finals.
She wrote: “For those who don’t know my name is TRINITY, not Tiffany.”
She also requested that commentators avoid mentioning her father during her boyfriend’s matches, stating: “Also, for Ben’s matches, he has his family there as his support system, which includes his dad my dad’s not even in MY life no need to bring him up during HIS matches when I don’t even want him talked about during mine. It’s his and his loved one’s moment. Thank you.”
