Dame Joan Collins has delighted fans by sharing a rare photograph of her youngest daughter Katy on Instagram to mark her 53rd birthday.
The 92-year-old Dynasty star posted the celebratory snapshot on Sunday, showing the pair beaming together at a round table.
The legendary actress looked radiant in a ruched coffee-hued top paired with a cream blazer featuring a pink and navy check pattern. She accessorised with a wide-brim hat, pearlescent disc earrings, and a statement pearl crucifix.
Katy, whose full name is Katyana Kass, appeared stylish in a chic quilted jacket and black beanie.
In her Instagram caption, Dame Joan paid tribute to her daughter, typing: “My beautiful #daughter Katy enjoying the happiest of birthdays last Friday #daughtersareforever #daughterslove.” (Sic)
Dame Joan shares Katy with her third husband, Ron Kass. Whilst Katy tends to avoid the spotlight, the actress opened up about her daughter in her 2023 BBC Documentary titled This Is Joan.
She revealed that Katy suffered a traumatic car accident when she was eight years old. “She was knocked down by a car and sustained very serious brain injuries and I was told that she was going to die.”
“She was in a coma for a very long time,” Joan said.
Aged 41 in 2012, Katy also suffered a fall in the foyer of her mother’s Hollywood apartment block. She broke her eye socket and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, but went on to make a full recovery.
Fans and friends quickly inundated the comments section with touching messages. One wrote: “Beautiful photo of you both”, while a second added: “What a beautiful photo of you both”, and a third commented: “Happy birthday Katy. I love her jacket!”
Dame Joan is also mother to two older children, Alexander and Tara, whom she shares with her second husband, Anthony Newley.
Tara is a journalist and screenwriter, while Alexander is a published author and artist.
Reflecting on motherhood, Joan previously told Hello! in 2018: “What makes me happiest is seeing my children happy. Honestly, life makes me happy and I’m very aware of how lucky I am.”
The actress has also recently taken to Instagram to criticise “loutish” Lime bike users after encountering bicycles blocking London pavements on Saturday.

Dame Joan posted a photograph showing numerous bikes dumped on the pavement whilst she was out walking.
Despite her outrage, she looked chic in a summer hat and shades. She captioned the snap: “#shocked about the #loutish behavior of @lime #bycicle users #pavementsareforpedestrians #limebike”.
The £400 million company owns and operates most of the estimated 30,000 bikes in London. Whilst Lime fines users who park inappropriately, it has no control over hacker riders who face no such disincentive.
The branded e-bikes have frequently been dumped in locations that make them a menace to pedestrians or a danger to motorists.
