Amanda Owen has been overwhelmed with support after opening up about challenges she faces at Ravenseat Farm, where she continues to work alongside her ex-husband Clive.
On Saturday, Owen took to Instagram to share a raw glimpse into her day-to-day life, posting a video for her followers.
Owen showed how she used her own Lypsyl lip balm to help a sheep struggling to get her lamb to latch and feed.
“And yes, I’ll probably still use it again after,” Owen admitted.
The video then cut to Owen bottle-feeding the lamb after she expressed some milk from its mother. “We’ve sorted it,” she told her fans.
Sharing a personal message alongside the video, Owen wrote: “So whilst I’m on a roll, feeling feisty and determined, I want to stand up for those of us that have to tackle practical problems every day.
“I will carry on illustrating the various predicaments that we deal with here on the farm and the lengths that we go to in order to remedy.
“There are some crackers! It isn’t all just gazing to the hills and beyond. #shepherdess #farm #countryside #outdoors.”
Fans loved Owen’s honesty and quick thinking, flooding her comments with praise.

One follower wrote: “Innovation and compromise, you certainly think on your feet (or knees) It’s how you and your animals survive up there. Well done, Amanda, for showing us how it’s done.”
Another added: “You go girl, Lipsyl is a great idea. Always thinking on your feet.”
Owen’s down-to-earth attitude has long been one of her most beloved traits, and she has never been shy about sharing the less glamorous side of life on the farm.
Just recently, she posted a heartfelt message thanking her children for their help, while also admitting that they “argue, bicker, fight, swear and skive”.
She also recently stepped in to defend her son Reuben, after critics targeted him over a video where he was seen assisting an ewe during lambing season.
Some claimed the footage showed mistreatment, but Owen was quick to set the record straight.
Writing on Instagram on Friday, the Yorkshire Shepherdess explained that while sheep can be difficult to handle, they always treat their animals with care and respect.
She added: “Maybe it would be a lot easier to take care of them and handle them if they were all crammed into an industrial shed, not free to exercise and graze the meadows, moors & pastures ?????
“But I reckon that we all know that being outside, free to wander and live naturally is a far better way for them.”
The Owen family has recently settled into their new home, Anty’s Johns, after years of hard work and extensive renovations.
Their journey has been documented on the Channel 5 series Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids.
