Liliana Myers, the widow of beloved TV chef Dave Myers, has moved fans to tears with a poignant Facebook post about life without her husband.
The Hairy Bikers star passed away in February 2024 after a brave battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of culinary adventures and television memories.
Over a year since his passing, Liliana has shared an emotional update alongside a cherished photograph of the couple, reflecting on how her outlook on life has dramatically changed and the skills she’s had to develop since losing her husband.
In her heartfelt Facebook post, Liliana shared a tender photo of herself with Dave from “times of joy and happiness,” describing it as “a reminder of how life was before everything changed.”
Her message revealed the profound adjustments she’s faced since losing her husband, particularly how she now must develop skills Dave had encouraged her to learn during their time together.
The post highlighted how intertwined their lives had been, with Liliana admitting she had often declined his suggestions to develop her own independence, not foreseeing a future without him by her side.

Liliana recounted Dave’s advice in her moving post: “When he said, ‘Lil, you should learn how to ride a bike’. I said, ‘My love, I have you to do that. We enjoy sharing a bike ride together too much.'”
She shared similar exchanges about cooking and exploring independently, before reflecting: “How right was he and how wrong was I because, when I lost him, I had to learn to do all of those things without him! And it hurts now that I did say no then.”
Her message concluded with powerful life lessons: “Do, experience, live, love and enjoy everything for yourself, be daring and bold, don’t hide behind someone else’s dreams. Have your own dreams and fulfil them for yourself!”
Liliana’s emotional message sparked an outpouring of support from fans, with hundreds commenting on her post. Many admitted they were reduced to tears by her words.
One supporter wrote: “Keep moving forward knowing that Dave is watching over you, probably chuckling at your muck ups, but he’s there.

Dave and Liliana’s love story began in Romania whilst he was filming The Hairy Bikers’ Cookbook. The TV chef was captivated by Liliana, who was working at a hotel during the production.
Despite the geographical distance between them, their connection flourished. When Liliana later visited the UK, their friendship blossomed into romance.
She once recalled the moment that won her heart: “He picked me up from the airport. It was about midnight and he opened the fridge.
“He said, ‘What do you want me to cook for you?’ I’d never ever in my life had a man cook for me. So that was the very first thing that just hit me.”
