Sir Rod Stewart will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards, marking a major milestone in his legendary career.
The 80-year-old icon will also take the stage for a live performance, his first AMA appearance since 2004, when he delivered a soulful rendition of “What a Wonderful World” from his Grammy-winning album Stardust: The Great American Songbook, Volume III.
Stewart joins a powerhouse lineup of performers over 50 gracing this year’s show, including host Jennifer Lopez, 55, Gwen Stefani, 55, Janet Jackson, 59, and Gloria Estefan, 67.
The AMAs have also booked rising stars like Benson Boone, 22, Reneé Rapp, 25, Lainey Wilson, 33, and Blake Shelton, 48.
Set to “kick off summer,” the 51st American Music Awards will air live coast to coast on Monday, May 26, from the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
The show begins at 8pm ET/5pm PT on CBS and streams on Paramount+ in the US.
Stewart, who co-hosted the AMAs back in 1989 alongside Anita Baker, Debbie Gibson, and Kenny Rogers, is no stranger to major accolades.
His previous honours include the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music (1993), the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award (1999), and dual inductions into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame- first as a solo artist in 1994, and again with Faces in 2012.
