Celebrity Big Brother viewers have expressed outrage at Patsy Palmer following Trisha Goddard’s eviction from the house on Wednesday night.
Fans have branded the EastEnders star’s behaviour as “disrespectful” and “ungrateful” after she openly admitted wishing she had been the one to leave instead.
The backlash comes after Goddard, who is battling terminal stage four cancer, became the second housemate to be evicted from the ITV reality show.
Palmer appeared visibly unhappy with the outcome, telling her fellow housemates she was “gutted” not to be leaving the house herself.
The actress’s reaction has sparked criticism across social media platforms.
Looking saddened by the result, Palmer told housemates: “I am gutted. Sorry, I do love you all so much, but I just, I am.”
She added: “I was hoping that people would see ‘oh she’s really missing her kids, don’t vote for her.'”
The mother-of-four then pretended to speak to her children through a banana as if it were a phone, saying: “Listen be home soon.”
Her comments came immediately after Goddard had said her goodbyes and exited to applause, where she was greeted by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best.

Palmer has reportedly been away from her family for months, having been filming EastEnders before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Viewers were quick to express their frustration on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
One fan fumed: “I find it so disrespectful when a housemate complains they didn’t leave when a housemate that just left really wanted to stay.”
They continued: “Like Michael & Trisha loved being there & appreciated it meanwhile Mickey, Patsy & Jack complained it wasn’t them that left… Ungrateful.”
Another wrote: “As much as i love THEEE Patsy Palmer.. i can’t keep hearing her say how much she wants to go or time to go faster.”
“Patsy is like a f***ing dementor, she drains the life out of me every time she’s on the screen. one of the most disappointing celeb housemates ever on #BB #CBB,” someone else added.
Another X user shared: “Not even being muggy but why doesn’t patsy go home if she’s had enough and wants to go and see her kids, instead of being miserable and getting annoyed by Jack ??? #cbb #CBBUK.”
“Honestly I’m bored of Patsy and Jack now. If you wanna go just go ffs getting paid 100k for 3 weeks and moaning the whole time, like Ella. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and I’m annoyed trisha has gone when it meant the most to her. Load of s****. #CBB #CBBUK,” one more fumed.
Some fans did defend the actress, with one posting: “Patsy has been away from her family for ages she was over here filming EE for months and then went straight in to CBB, it’s okay for her to miss her family.”
“Patsy’s house has burned down and she’s been away from her family for 8 months filming eastenders to go straight into the house since she signed a contract. Ofc she’s gonna seem sad #CBBUK #CBB,” another pointed out. (sic)
Fellow housemate JoJo Siwa also expressed concerns about Patsy in the Diary Room following Trisha’s eviction.
The 21-year-old American star revealed she finds it “hard” to connect with Patsy.
“I think she’s an angel, but I find it the hardest to be close to Patsy,” JoJo admitted.
“I feel like every time I talk to Patsy I feel down, I feel down after. Maybe it’s just her tone… I just feel like she’s sad.”
JoJo also expressed disbelief at Patsy’s attitude, saying: “I was watching Patsy and I was like, ‘I cannot fathom feeling like that.'”
She added: “I would literally give my right arm to stay in here till the end. I am having the best time.”
Trisha Goddard, who had signed up for the show to prove to patients they should “not be scared of living” after her terminal cancer diagnosis, appeared to have a positive attitude despite her eviction.
Speaking to hosts AJ and Will, Trisha described her time on the show as “respite” and “a holiday from having to think about cancer”.
