Loose Women star Denise Welch has shared her excitement after her son Matt Healy’s band The 1975 was announced as a Glastonbury headliner for 2025.
The 66-year-old took to Instagram shortly after Thursday’s line-up reveal to express her pride.
Sharing an image of the festival poster, Welch wrote: “I guess I’ll be going to my first UK festival!!!”
She also posted the announcement on her Instagram stories with the caption: “Look who’s headlining on the Friday!!! Popping out to buy some wellies.”
The 1975 will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night of the Somerset festival.
Fans were quick to share in Welch’s excitement, with supportive comments flooding her post.
One fan wrote: “This is amazing you must be so so proud!”, while another commented: “Proud mom moment for sure!!! So exciting!!!!”
Another enthusiastic supporter added: “I’m having a joyful meltdown, oh my heart!!” (sic)
The announcement marks a significant moment for Welch, who will be attending her first UK festival to watch her son perform.
The Loose Women panellist shares Healy, 35, with her ex-husband Tim Healy, 73. The couple are also parents to their younger son Louis, 24.

The 1975 will be joined by Biffy Clyro and Alanis Morissette on the Friday night lineup when the festival returns to Worthy Farm in June.
The full lineup announcement revealed other major acts including Olivia Rodrigo headlining Sunday night and Neil Young taking the Saturday headline slot.
Charli XCX, Raye and Doechii will also perform during the weekend.
This marks the first time The 1975 and Rodrigo have headlined the prestigious festival.
Glastonbury organisers noted that “many more acts and attractions” are still to be announced for the 2025 event.
While Denise is thrilled about her son’s headline slot, some Glastonbury fans expressed disappointment with the overall lineup.
Moments after the announcement, social media was flooded with complaints from ticket holders.
Some branded it the “worst line up ever” with one person writing on X/Twitter: “Glastonbury have had a mare with them headliners oh my lord.”
Another disappointed fan added: “As usual, all the decent stuff well down the bill, but my god those headliners are shocking for the biggest festival in the country.”
Some fans even vowed to sell their tickets following the announcement.
Tickets for this year’s festival cost £373.50, plus booking fees.
Denise’s pride in her son’s achievement comes after she recently shared glimpses of their family life on social media.
Last Christmas, she posted a sweet family clip featuring Matty, his fiancée Gabbriette and herself dancing together.
Matty, who previously dated Taylor Swift, proposed to 26-year-old Gabbriette in June last year.
The festive video showed the trio dressed in black, two-stepping to a Last Christmas remake during a farm trip in Derbyshire.
The 2025 Glastonbury Festival will be particularly significant as organisers have confirmed the event will take a fallow year in 2026.
A resale of tickets is planned for April for those who missed out initially.
