Maura Higgins and Danny Jones have been at the centre of a media storm this week after footage circulated from last week’s Brit Awards, which seemed to show the two “kissing”.
However, eagle-eyed fans of former Love Island star Higgins, 34, have spotted a clue that could suggest the situation has been blown out of proportion.
The two have faced huge backlash online after their alleged close display at the Brits afterparty, with married McFly star Jones, 38, accused of cheating on his wife Georgia Horsley, whom he has been married to since 2014.
While none of the involved parties have shared any public statements about the apparent scandal, the controversy has been discussed extensively on social media.
One X user seemed to do some detective work and noted a clue that could imply the trio involved are, in fact, still on good terms.
They shared how Jones, Higgins and Horsley all still follow each other on Instagram, suggesting there may not be bad blood between them.
“Danny Jones and Georgia still following Maura and Maura still following Georgia and Danny. Do they not know the video is out yet?” the fan penned.
Responding, many others pointed out the possibility that the three have no problem with each other, with one writing: “You forgot a possibility: all three of them are fine with the situation.”

“I think people need to just calm down about the whole Danny/Maura/Georgia thing and give everyone some space to sort things out in private,” another commented.
They continued: “Yes we all want them to release a statement but remember they don’t owe us anything. It’s their business not ours.”
Someone else pointed out: “Only Danny , Georgia and Maura will know the truth. Yes, there’s a video but it could plainly be innocent too.
“If I was his wife I would [have] hated to see that but she may [have] been there that night and think nothing of it.”
Another argued: “I hate that the person videoing Danny Jones and Maura Higgins first thought was let’s sell this clip.
“I hope Georgia Horsley (his wife) already knew. Otherwise this is savage.” (sic)
Following the star-studded bash, an onlooker sent a short video clip to The Sun, with a source telling the publication: “Danny and Maura seemed to be having a great time. They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss.
“Danny and Maura seem to have a close friendship after meeting in the jungle. They were talking and laughing for ages.”
It’s understood the pair sat at different tables during the Brits ceremony, with Jones initially spending his evening with McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher before Higgins walked over.
Onlookers also said the duo spent 90 minutes together, with one adding: “Danny appeared to be giving Maura advice and at one point he put his arm around her shoulder.”
Jones has been married to Georgia Horsley since 2014, and the two share a six-year-old son, Cooper Alf Jones.
