Dancing on Ice star Chelsee Healey has revealed she suffered a devastating miscarriage whilst competing on the ITV skating show, sharing her heartbreak in an emotional Instagram post following her elimination.
The 36-year-old Hollyoaks actress, who was the first celebrity to leave this year’s competition, opened up about her loss on Thursday, saying she had been unable to speak about it until now as it was “too painful”.
Healey discovered she was pregnant during the busy training schedule for the show, but within weeks of finding out the news, she experienced a miscarriage before she and her family could “allow this news to sink in”.
The actress made the brave decision to share her story in hopes of helping other women going through similar experiences.
In her candid Instagram post, Healey wrote: “Whilst committed to DOI and the busy training schedule, to our shock we discovered that I was pregnant.”
“Within weeks of finding out this news, before me and my family could allow this news to sink in and digest it, I suffered a miscarriage,” she continued.
The actress described how the loss “really did devastate me and hit me deeply.”
“Understandably this really did devastate me and hit me deeply, finding out this news and then having it taken in such a short proof of time is an awful lot to deal with,” she shared.
Healey admitted that while she tried to continue as normal, those close to her could tell something wasn’t right.
“I thought I could just carry on but anyone who knows me, knew I wasn’t right,” she revealed.
In her emotional post, Healey acknowledged being “beyond blessed” to have two beautiful daughters but expressed that “the grief still feels enormous.”
“I am grieving for the little soul I carried momentarily who I’ll never get to meet, the sibling that my girls will never get to have,” she wrote.
The star emphasised that some feelings cannot simply be put aside, writing: “This hurts differently and I can’t just move on, not yet anyway.”
“I think that my little baby deserves to be honoured by me allowing myself to feel all the emotions, all the sadness for what will not be. There is no shame in that,” she shared.
Healey concluded her post with a message to others experiencing similar loss: “Our heavenly children deserve a place in our hearts.”
Fellow Dancing on Ice stars and colleagues rushed to support Healey following her emotional revelation.
Her skating partner Andy Buchanan wrote: “You’re a special person and I can’t express how much I respect you as a friend and a partner.”
“Knowing what you were going through, you always impressed me with how you put on a brave face and treated everyone around you with such kindness, even on your most difficult days,” he added.
Co-star Ferne McCann – the second star voted off the show last weekend – commented: “You’re a formidable force. And it was a pleasure working alongside you when you was going through all of this darling. Your girlies are lucky to have such a strong mamma.”
Helen Flanagan and Gemma Atkinson also offered their support, with Atkinson writing: “No shame at all. Sending lots of love to you all.”
Fellow Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox added: “I’m so sorry, sending you and your family lots of love.”
Healey was eliminated from Dancing on Ice in Week Two of the 2025 series after scoring 22 points for her performance to BeyoncĂ©’s Crazy In Love.

The revelation about her miscarriage comes after Healey previously opened up about struggles with her second pregnancy, having welcomed daughter Cookie in December 2023.
She had disclosed that her C-section was scheduled three weeks before her due date due to mental health challenges during the pregnancy.
“They had to put me into my C-section early because of my mental health. Cookie was due on January 14 and they put me in for my C-section on December 22. They knew I was really struggling,” she had told The Sun.
