Giovanni Pernice has announced a major comeback with a 2025 tour alongside fellow dancer Anton du Beke.
The news comes after speculation that Pernice might be leaving the UK permanently following his recent involvement with the Italian dance show Ballando con le Stelle.
The tour, titled Together Again, is set to surpass the success of its 2024 run with all-new material.
Kicking off on June 12 at Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre, the 35-date spectacle will traverse the UK and Ireland, concluding on 30 July at the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend, Essex.
The recent announcement follows a BBC probe into Giovanni’s conduct with his 2023 Strictly partner Amanda Abbington.
The investigation cleared Giovanni of the most serious allegations of physical aggression but upheld some of Abbington’s complaints.
In response, Pernice stated: “Today I’m happy because at the beginning there were very very serious allegations thrown out at me but as of today, none of the serious allegations have been upheld.”
Amanda, in turn, said: “Today’s apology from the BBC is a vindication of my complaint.”
Despite the controversy, Pernice appears to be moving forward with his career. Du Beke, a Strictly judge and close friend of the 34-year-old, has shown unwavering support, expressing excitement about their upcoming tour on social media.
Pernice’s career continues to flourish despite recent challenges. He has joined the Italian dance show Ballando con le Stelle, marking a return to his native country’s television.
This move, however, hasn’t deterred his UK commitments. Du Beke, who has filmed travel shows and toured with Pernice outside of Strictly, expressed his support for his former colleague’s return to the dance floor.
“I’d like to see him back of course,” Anton told The Sun, acknowledging the recent controversy as “unfortunate” but emphasising that the focus should be on the positive experiences of most contestants.
Giovanni’s enthusiasm for his upcoming projects is evident. He took to Instagram to announce the tour, exclaiming, “We are back!” and referring to Du Beke as his “best friend”.
This camaraderie and professional resilience suggest a bright future for the dancing duo.
