Escape to the Chateau stars Dick and Angel Strawbridge have reprised their podcast, Dick & Angel’s Chat…Eau after enjoying a break over the summer.
The couple became household names thanks to their Channel 4 series, which saw them packing away their UK life and moving to a French chateau to revamp into a thriving business.
Their two children, Arthur and Dorothy, enjoyed the journey with them and while the series is now over, the family has kept its loyal following, with fans keeping updated through their podcast and social media posts.
The couple revealed in the latest episode that Arthur, 11, has in the past suffered “really badly” from a health condition.
As the pair chatted about the current UK weather, Dick, 65, exclaimed: “We had frost, I took a picture of frost last week, the second week of September!
“That’s ridiculous. Having said that, you still send Arthur to school in shorts, don’t you?”
“Well he likes shorts, we have a little discussion,” Angel explained, adding: “Arthur still likes me to pick his clothes out still.
“Dorothy, since she was about two I haven’t really been able to really pick her clothes out. But Arthur, he still likes me to.”
Joking their son was too lazy to choose his own clothes, Dick quipped: “Do you know what, he’s a bloke.”
“He has got his favourites, and they are based on comfort,” Angel continued.
She recalled: “We went out at the weekend and we were trying to get some trousers because he doesn’t like to wear anything that is a bit tight, a bit scratchy.”
Remembering a condition he suffered from in childhood, she continued: “When he was a baby he actually had really, really bad eczema.
“Do you remember we took him to Bethnal Green to the doctor, it was a lovely lady doctor and she said, ‘I would be upset if I was you.’ She was really, really sweet.
“But interestingly, when we moved from London to Southend, a lot of his eczema cleared up without us doing anything, but he is still prone to it.”

As the couple gear up for their UK tour, they recently announced their children would be joining them. Speaking to Virgin Radio, Angel announced: “We just found out that both the children can come with us for the whole tour, literally seconds ago!”
However, the news sparked concern among the parents as Strawbridge admitted: “Arthur is now starting college in September, big school, and we were a little bit concerned because he hasn’t even started yet.”
Elaborating on their children’s unique lifestyle, he added: “We’ve never had any problems with Dorothy and Arthur while they’ve been at primary school because the headmistress there always says, ‘It’s education, take them away, they will learn so much from travelling around the place!'”
